EVENT RULES

My name is Lyndra Lydy and I wanted to provide a competition for women to be able to showcase their talents as true horsewomen. This particular mix of events was put together by my good friend Dennis Williams of Wilcox, AZ. I am honored to take over the production and to bring this competition to a new level .  Thank you for your interest and we hope to see you at our next event !

Welcome to Iron Cowgirl Productions ! 

Steer Stop: The Steer must be roped around the neck, slick horns or half head. horse must be stopped and the steer must be face to face with the horse to get a flag to call time. 5 second barrier in effect.

Heading:Must have a legal head catch of slick horns, neck catch or half head. You may bring the partner of your choice, or we will have one available to rope with you if we are notified within a week prior to the event. Completion of run will be flagged when heeler is stopped, and rope is tight. 5 second barrier in effect.

Breakaway: Calf must be roped around the neck clean with no appendages in the loop to get a flag to call time. 5 second barrier in effect.

Iron Horse:You must enter and ride the same horse in all events. Horse will be judged by an individual knowledgeable in all events chosen by Iron Cowgirl Productions. 

Each contestant will make one run in each event, Heading, Heeling, Steer Stop, Breakaway, and Barrels. Times will be taken and fastest totaled time of all 5 events will win the competition.

You may enter this competition more than once if you are riding a second horse and said horse is entered in the Iron Horse Competition.

Barrels: Cloverleaf pattern. 5 second penalty for each barrel knocked down.

​​​Heeling:There are three acceptable catches on the heel side, 2 legs, pantyhose (around the flank) and 1 leg. (1 leg will result in an added 5 second penalty). You may bring a partner of your choice, or we will have one available for you if notified a week prior to the event. Completion of run will be flagged, when heelers horse is stopped, and rope is tight. 5 second barrier in effect. Heeler may tie on.
